Thinking about a change?
"What is important is to try to develop insight and wisdom rather than mere knowledge, respect someone's character rather than his learning and nurture men of character rather than mere talents." - Inazo Nitobe
When I think back on my journey as a coach I have to be honest and say that I feel really lucky to have had the career I have had so far, and even more lucky that I get to keep doing it all these years later. What started out as a personal passion has grown into a career and way of life for me. Learn one day, teach the next.
I'm going to explain my journey as a coach and my coaching style in hopes that the right person reads this and I get to help yet another person experience a version of themselves they did not think possible.
But, if you already know my steez and know you want to work with me this fall, then you can skip the blog and click here.
My journey as a coach actually began back in high school when I decided I wanted to be an athlete, but had the body of a band-geek (no offence band-folks). As such, I embarked on a long journey of Alchemy which is really just self-improvement.
Each of us inhabit a certain body and operate with a certain mental framework that is the result of both nature and nurture. Alchemy is changing the body and changing the mind to better align with who or what you want to BE or ACHIEVE. Everyone is capable of Alchemy and I like the word Alchemy more than self-improvement because it carries POWER, and you need POWER to make lasting changes.
My personal journey of Alchemy, as I mentioned before, mostly started with the building of muscle, and gaining of fitness. I learned a lot on this journey, and it continues to inform my coaching today. My alchemy helped me play Junior A Hockey, NCAA Division 1 Lacrosse, set records in Weightlifting, even do some modelling, and compete at a high level in The Sport of Fitness. However, the Warrior version of myself had little value once my athletic career came to an end. My next journey of Alchemy involved healing past wounds, and turning myself from a selfish athlete into a holistic fitness coach who helps people from all walks of life level up. For the past decade, coaching and Alchemy have been my passion.
To become the coach I am today, I did not simply get lean, hire a photographer to take pictures of me, buy a logo, and then pay for social media ads. Instead, I dedicated my life and travelled the world in service of learning about the many different ways we can improve ourselves as humans both physically and mentally. I have trained professional athletes in numerous sports including hockey and surfing, travelled to India to study Yoga, Pranayama, and Meditation, have literally read hundreds of books, and have taken numerous strength and conditioning courses. In short, my approach has layers.
But most important is the results of my labour. Since 2015, I have helped dozens of people experience significant and lasting changes in their life as a Remote Coach. Check out some testimonials here.
As a result, today I am a holistic coach that offers an entire wheel of work as opposed to a single spoke. My coaching draws upon my education in Yoga, Psychology, Philosophy, Strength and Conditioning, and Nutrition as well as my personal experiences as a life-long Alchemist. I use all these tools to help people change their lives in a sustainable way, and am confident that I can help anyone who knocks on my door to not only perform better, but feel better about themselves as well.
What is my coaching like?
Well, it depends, because I am not offering a cookie-cutter product or one size fits all approach. I believe that we are all infinitely unique, and that a program designed for everyone is a program designed for no one. As such, my coaching looks different with every single client I have, but I'll do my best to sum it up.
In short I am a Fitness-Oriented Life Coach. The work my clients do each week involves individualized strength and conditioning tailored to each individuals history and goals, individualized nutrition protocols, energy balance/schedule management, yoga, as well as mindfulness and self-reflection. I take on no more than twenty clients at one time, and aim for an intimate, and supportive coaching relationship with my clients. I will be in your corner every step of the way.
The work I do with folks is not about adding on a bunch of hacks to an already broken system. Instead I use a holistic approach to help you to replace the behaviours which are keeping you stuck in your current undesirable state with new behaviours that will propel you towards living the life you want to live, and performance at the highest level.

I often find the people I work with do a better job of describing what I do than I can, so I'll let one of my past clients explain what the experience of working with me was like.
"As an ex-college athlete with 12+ years of gym experience, I came to Myles thinking I didn’t have much more to learn about fitness. My hope was to just pick up a few new workout templates and see how much I could improve my body composition in a year.
After 16 months, the change in my fitness was profound. I gained a considerable amount of strength, put on tons of new muscle, and became leaner than I have ever been. I also gained a ton of mobility, got rid of my chronic hip pain which had limited my ability to squat for years, and made huge improvements to my aerobic base. I never expected to achieve such incredible physical results, and I certainly didn’t foresee all of the other ways working with Myles would improve my life.
I changed the way that I eat and how I think about food. I developed a habit of daily stretching and developed a love for Yin Yoga. I learned new breathing and mindfulness techniques, new ways to think about cardio, learned how often and how intense I should workout, how to build my own workouts, and I could go on and on. In short, through working with Myles, I developed a more complete view of what I consider ‘fitness’ - and this, rather than the physical improvements, are what I’m most thankful for.
It is not hyperbole when I say that working with Myles was the best money I’ve ever spent. I came to Myles hoping to improve my physique, and instead he changed my life."
